Today’s perspective

Under my umbrela-ela-ela

Well, I knew it before I came here: Vancouver is no sunny California, eventually the rain had to come.

Julian definitely needs another pair of clothes, because he came home today totally soaking wet. And I don’t think drying trousers on the bike and hoping they will get dry during 8,5 hours of work (yes! can you imagine THAT? from 9am till 5.30pm?!) is the good solution.
And because both me and Albert are not made of sugar, we enjoyed our rainy walk in the park anyway!

Let me quote a nice woman from car rental we met last week: “In Vancouver, we don’t get tanned, we get rusty”.
So, I will keep you posted on my rusty-level!

Attention, Julian hijacking the post! Today was probably only a light drizzle. Quite nice, actually, small, soft drops. Not a heavy downpour. But, yeah. Ride your bike through it, and it takes 30 seconds to make the Iceland-tested-and-found-insufficient hardshell jacket quite obsolete. Might as well have been naked. What was interesting to see, though, was that the streets and seawall weren’t any emptier than on the last few days. People biking, walking, running and playing with their dogs in the grass. And I don’t mean just walking their dogs, I mean really, seriously playing. Canadians seem to be tough and cheerful at the same time. 🙂
