Only yesterday evening I talked to Julian and we agreed, that so far we didn’t find anything in Vancouver we don’t have in Stuttgart as well (including Starbucks 🙂 ).
I even thought I already saw a whale…
We’ve been around Vancouver a bit. And, while nothing we experienced would necessarily call for a dedicated blog post, we still thought it might be nice to share the bulk of it. Someone might get a laugh out of it, who knows. 🙂 Read more
If anyone asks me how much crap costs I will ask back: one way or a round trip?
We’ve been looking at apartments to rent. There are lots of them, to be fair, but only before sorting the wheat from the chaff. Many are too small (0 bedroom studios are a real thing here), too low (really, we’re too old for basements) or simply cost an arm and a leg (small 1 bedroom apartment for 5000$/month, anyone?). This took a while longer than expected, but: We made it!
We had a reasonably comfortable flight and learned a few things along the way. 🙂 Albert was great and a real sunshine, except for the very last hour. Getting the work permit was painless, if a bit slow, and getting to the apartment was actually a pleasant surprise. And now: the long version. 🙂 (It’s really long. Just saying.) Read more
We said our last round of family good-byes today. Things are starting to feel very real. And exciting. And a little bit sad. I should probably man up and swallow the lump in my throat, or whatever.
